Why I Created XYZ.FRL
It started with a simple need. I was maintaining several "last resort" out-of-band devices over 4G/5G connections. They didn't have fixed IP addresses, and I needed a reliable way to reach them when everything else failed.
I looked at existing Dynamic DNS services from commercial providers, but the problems were obvious: high costs, annoying rate limiting, and unnecessary complexity. It simply wasn't worth the money for something I knew I could build better.
I wanted something dead simple. No accounts. No tracking. Just a pure utility that does one thing perfectly. So I built it with a stateless architectureβbecause who wants to manage a database of users? If you lose your credentials, just get a fresh hostname. That's the beauty of it.
